A : They are On Demand Water heaters-hot water still needs to travel thru the pipes from the point where tankless is installed to the fixtures. However this time can be put on just few seconds with right installation
Q : Why I need to upgrade the gas pie?I have one,right here next to the old one.
A : In order to heat the water as fast as it is flowing, they need proper amount of fuel. Old 1/2 gas pipe is sized to deliver less fuel,because of that takes time to heat the water in the tank.
Q : Why I need to upgrade the vent?
A : All tankless water heaters have build in fan,that crates pressure in order to take the exhaust gasses out. Because it is higher efficiency unit, exhaust gasses are cooler than the tank type water heater gasses and they may condense. This condense is acidic and will cause a corrosion in vent pipe,soon after leaks. Because of that Stainless steel seal type vent or PVC SCH40 pipe is needed.
Q : Why is so expensive to install it in my apartment/condo/town home?
A : Apartment/Condo/Town Home -if not originally designed to have tankless water heater,it is labor consuming to run new dedicated gas line from gas meter to the point of installation and upgrade the vent. Some cases require to get access to one or more different dwellings in order to erect new exhaust vent and gas pipe. It is economically wise to do such an upgrade. Because of that our company try to stay away from such installations.
